Juan Carlos is the Director of Boeing Research & Technology – Middle East, Turkey and Africa (BR&T – META), based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He holds an Aeronautical Engineering degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an MSBA from Boston University. A former US Air Force officer, Juan Carlos spent a decade working in the A&D sector in Spain before joining Boeing in 2002 to help set-up the first international BR&T center, located in Europe.

In his current assignment, he has worked to core-up existing R&D initiatives in the META region, and has launched new ones in support of the international objectives of BR&T.

He drives the Boeing Company in-region technical presence, developing a technology ecosystem through strategic collaborations, and leads teams of BR&T employees currently located in three of the META countries. His ultimate objective is to establish a targeted local engineering presence that works with a partnership network to enable immediate value creation through innovation.

He also develops the BR&T regional strategy to support the R&D component of Boeing Commercial Airplanes ‘sales-derived work placement as well as that of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security offset commitments.
