Information

Dr. Bekir Bediz is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Mechatronics Engineering Program at Sabanci University in Istanbul, Turkey, since August 2016.

Dr. Bekir Bediz graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey in June 2006. He pursued a Master's degree in the same department at METU, graduating in July 2009. During his master's studies, Bediz conducted research on in vivo human tibial bone strength measurement by modal vibration analysis.

Continuing his academic pursuits, Bediz earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in December 2014. The focus of his doctoral research was on the three-dimensional dynamics of micro tools and miniature ultra-high-speed spindles.

His research interests focus on developing novel high-fidelity dynamic modeling approaches to accurately and precisely capture the dynamics of complex engineering structures, experimental modal analysis techniques, advancing multi-scale manufacturing processes and related equipment/sensors, and fabrication of micro-scale bio-devices.
