Dr. Selda Erkoç İlter is currently working as the postdoctoral research associate at Sabanci University Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Research and Application Center & Composite Technologies Center of Excellence (SU IMC & CTCE).
Dr. Erkoç received her Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2012 and 2005, respectively. She received her B.S. degree in Chemistry from Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2001. She worked as the research assistant at Bogazici University between 2005-2013. Before joining SU IMC, she was the postdoctoral research assistant at Sabanci University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center between 2014-2018.
Dr. Erkoç has diverse academic experiences in polymers, organic synthesis, material science and nanotechnology. She worked on the synthesis of cyclopolymers by controlled polymerization techniques (ATRP and RAFT polymerization) and the multi-stage synthesis of novel potential drug molecules active against prostate cancer. She worked as the post-doctoral research assistant in the project titled with “Fabrication of Innovative Forward Osmosis (FO) and Low Pressure Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membranes and Modul Development for Production of Drinking Water”. She published several SCI indexed high impact factor research articles in the field of controlled polymers, anti-(bio)fouling membranes, ultrafiltration and desalination membranes. She also published many conference papers. Her current research activities are composite materials, organic synthesis, functional polymers, functional nanoparticles, water treatment membranes and desalination.
Her career project on “Innovative cyclopolymer composite membranes” was accepted by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey in December 2018. She aims to serve the needs of humanity by combining science and technology.
