Burç Mısırlıoğlu received his B.Sc. and his M.Sc. in Metallurgy (1998) and Materials Science (2001) respectively from İstanbul Technical University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Connecticut in 2006. He was a AvH fellow at Max Planck Institute of Physics from 2006 to 2007 followed by a post-doc position at MIT, Nuclear Science and Engineering Dept. until 2008. Since 2008, he has been a faculty member in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Sabanci University, İstanbul, Turkey followed by his affiliation with KTMM since Fall of 2016. His research interests are centered around ferroic oxides, their phase transition characteristics under various boundary conditions and their integration into sub-micron devices. He also has keen interest in mechanical properties of materials and behavior of composites enabling him to participate in the Center's research activities.
Dr. Burç Mısırlıoğlu has published more than 60 articles in his academic career that have received more than 1000 citations.
